Jurnal Ilmiah Hukum dan Keadilan is a primary academic forum for the publication of scholarly works concerning Indonesian law and the legal system. Priority is given to manuscripts that demonstrate originality, novelty, and the recency of legal issues. Manuscripts reporting empirical or normative legal research are accepted for peer review as scientific articles.
Fakultas Hukum Universitas Dharma Indonesia, as the journal publisher, undertakes its responsibility as the guardian of the entire publication process and fully recognizes its ethical and professional obligations in scholarly publishing.
We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprint, or other commercial revenue has no influence on editorial decisions. In addition, Jurnal Ilmiah Hukum dan Keadilan will assist communication with other journals and/or publishers when such cooperation is useful and necessary.
DUTIES OF AUTHORS
(based on Elsevier policies and COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors)
Reporting Standards
Authors of original research must present an accurate account of the work performed, along with an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data must be represented accurately. Articles should contain sufficient detail and references to allow replication. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable. Review and professional articles must also be accurate and objective, while opinion-based editorials must be clearly identified as such.
Data Access and Retention
Authors may be requested to provide raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to provide public access to such data where practicable. Authors must retain research data for a reasonable period after publication.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are entirely original. Proper citation or quotation is required when using the work or words of others. Plagiarism in any form—including copying, paraphrasing without attribution, or claiming others’ research results—is unethical and unacceptable.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Publishing substantially similar research in multiple journals without proper justification is unethical. Secondary publication may be allowed under specific conditions with approval from the editors of both journals and proper citation of the primary publication.
Acknowledgement of Sources
All sources influencing the research must be properly acknowledged. Information obtained through private communication or confidential services must not be used without explicit written permission.
Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research. All contributors meeting authorship criteria must be listed as co-authors. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors approve the final manuscript and its submission.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the research. All funding sources must be clearly stated.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works
Authors who discover significant errors in published work must promptly notify the editor and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article.
DUTIES OF THE EDITORIAL BOARD
(based on Elsevier policies and COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors)
Publication Decisions
Editors of Jurnal Ilmiah Hukum dan Keadilan are responsible for deciding which submitted articles are published, based on academic merit, originality, and relevance, while complying with applicable legal and ethical standards.
Fair Play
Manuscripts are evaluated solely on intellectual content without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, or political beliefs.
Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must maintain confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished materials for personal research and must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.
Involvement and Cooperation in Investigations
Editors will take appropriate action in response to ethical complaints, including corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when necessary.
