Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts to Tekno Medika: Medical Laboratory Technology. Manuscripts must be written in clear and concise English and comply with the following guidelines.

Types of Manuscripts

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles

  • Review Articles

  • Case Reports

  • Method Development and Validation Articles

Manuscript Preparation

  • Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word.

  • The text should be typed in Times New Roman, 12-point font, with 1.5 line spacing.

  • Page size: A4 with standard margins.

  • Manuscripts should be written in English.

Manuscript Structure

Title Page

  • Title of the manuscript (concise and informative).

  • Full names of all authors without academic titles.

  • Author affiliations and corresponding author’s email address.

Abstract

  • Maximum 250 words.

  • Structured abstract for research articles (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion).

  • Include 3–5 keywords.

Main Text

For Original Research Articles, the manuscript should include:

  1. Introduction

  2. Materials and Methods

  3. Results

  4. Discussion

  5. Conclusion

Review articles and case reports may use different structures as appropriate.

Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively.

  • Each table and figure must have a clear title and caption.

  • Images should be of high resolution and properly labeled.

References

  • References should be written using the Vancouver style.

  • At least 80% of references should be from peer-reviewed journals published within the last 10 years.

  • Use reference management software (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero) when possible.

Ethical Considerations

  • Research involving human subjects must include a statement of ethical approval.

  • Informed consent must be obtained when applicable.

  • Authors must declare any conflicts of interest.

Plagiarism Policy

  • All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism.

  • The maximum acceptable similarity index is ≤20%, excluding references.

Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted online through the journal submission system.

  • Authors should follow the submission steps provided on the website.

Copyright and Licensing

  • Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right to publish the article.

  • Articles are published under an open-access license as specified by the journal.
