Tekno Medika: Medical Laboratory Technology is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism to ensure originality and credibility of the published content.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

Direct copying of text, ideas, data, or images without proper citation.

Substantial similarity to previously published work without appropriate acknowledgment.

Self-plagiarism, including the reuse of significant portions of an author’s own previously published work without proper citation or justification.

Data fabrication or falsification.
Plagiarism Screening

All manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software before the peer review process.

The acceptable similarity index is ≤20%, excluding references, quotations, and bibliographic sections.

Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable similarity threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright.
Actions in Cases of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the publication process, the journal will take appropriate actions, including:

Rejection of the manuscript prior to publication.

Request for explanation or revision from the authors.

Retraction of the published article if plagiarism is identified after publication.

Notification to the authors’ affiliated institutions, if necessary.
Ethical Compliance
The journal follows the guidelines and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling plagiarism and other ethical misconduct.
