PUBLICATION ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT

Jurnal Ilmiah Teknologi dan Rekayasa Informatika (TRINET)

Jurnal Ilmiah Teknologi dan Rekayasa Informatika (TRINET) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. This statement is based on the guidelines and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and complies with national accreditation standards (SINTA).

This statement applies to all parties involved in the publication process: Editors, Reviewers, Authors, and the Publisher.

1. Duties of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

1.1 Publication Decisions

The Editor-in-Chief has full authority to decide which submitted manuscripts should be published, based on the manuscript’s academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

1.2 Fair Play

Manuscripts are evaluated solely on intellectual content without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, citizenship, or institutional affiliation.

1.3 Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, or publisher.

1.4 Conflict of Interest

Editors must not use unpublished materials for their own research and must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.

1.5 Ethical Oversight

Editors must take reasonable responsive measures when ethical complaints are presented concerning a submitted or published paper.

2. Duties of Reviewers

TRINET uses a Double-Blind Peer Review system.

Reviewers are required to:

2.1 Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Assist editors in making editorial decisions and help authors improve the quality of manuscripts.

2.2 Confidentiality

Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents.

2.3 Objectivity

Conduct reviews objectively and provide constructive feedback.

2.4 Acknowledgment of Sources

Identify relevant published work not cited by the authors.

2.5 Conflict of Interest

Decline review if there is any conflict of interest.

3. Duties of Authors

Authors must ensure:

3.1 Originality and Plagiarism

Manuscripts must be original works. Proper citation of all sources is mandatory. Plagiarism in any form is unethical and unacceptable.

3.2 Multiple or Concurrent Publication

Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.

3.3 Data Integrity

Authors must present accurate data and retain raw data for editorial review if requested.

3.4 Authorship Criteria

Authorship is limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research. All co-authors must approve the final manuscript.

3.5 Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest.

3.6 Corrections

Authors must promptly notify the editor if significant errors are discovered after publication.

4. Publication Malpractice

TRINET does not tolerate:

  • Plagiarism

  • Data fabrication or falsification

  • Duplicate publication

  • Citation manipulation

  • Improper authorship (ghost/gift authorship)

Sanctions may include manuscript rejection, retraction, and notification to affiliated institutions.

5. Peer Review Process

  • Initial editorial screening

  • Similarity check (plagiarism detection software)

  • Double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers

  • Editorial decision:

    • Accept

    • Minor Revision

    • Major Revision

    • Reject

6. Copyright and Licensing Policy

Authors who publish with TRINET agree to the following:

6.1 Copyright

Copyright remains with the Author(s). Authors grant the journal the right of first publication.

6.2 License

Articles are published under the:

Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0)

This license permits:

  • Sharing

  • Copying and redistribution

  • Adaptation for any purpose

Provided proper credit is given to the original author and journal.

Authors are permitted to:

  • Archive pre-print and post-print versions

  • Share the published version with acknowledgment of TRINET

7. Retraction Policy

Articles may be retracted if:

  • There is clear evidence of unreliable findings

  • Ethical violations are confirmed

  • Plagiarism or duplicate publication is proven

Retraction notices will be clearly identified and linked to the original article.
